Summary

Lake Doxa was created artificially in the 90s. After 30 years the nature has taken back their space from human intervention. The only human traces are the 2 churches, the damn and the road around the lake. The mountains are standing guards from all the directions and this is why the temperatures will stay low during the night even on summer (~10). This is not a show stopper for the warm days though! The lake is inviting for swimming, that’s why Doxa can host thriathlon activities (Biking, Running, Swimming). On top of these activities, the hiking trails can take you the nearest peaks in less than 3 hours, a great opportunity to watch the lake from a higher standing point. The small church in the middle of the lake is a rememberance that this lake used to be a forest.

During your stay in Lake Doxa you will be able to see the (semi-free) horses walking by your camp site to take a bath to the lake, you will have time for sunbathing at the cutest mini-beach by the water, go for kayaking.
